Faculty of Agriculture

Expanding the scope of studies by connecting theories with practice beyond the confines of boundaries between science and humanities

“Food” is vital for nurturing people’s “life”. “Agriculture” supports food production and contributes to making life fulfilling for people. The Faculty of Agriculture educates its students from these two perspectives by systematically connecting the roles and significances of issues relating to life, resources, food, and economy.

Based on agricultural products, the faculty considers the complete flow of “food”, from “growing”, “harvesting”, “processing” to “distribution” as the “food cycle”. We examine it from the viewpoints of humanities, social, and natural sciences with an aim to realize a sustainable society through agriculture as a “total science”.
