留学生が母国を紹介する「地球がキャンパスだ！」を開催！【R-Globe】
本学で学んでいる3名の交換留学生がグローバルコモンズのイベント「地球がキャンパスだ！」に参加し、本学の学生たちに母国について紹介しました。
7月10日（月）、ローマ・サピエンツァ大学（イタリア）のニコル・マリアーニさん：
絵に描いたような田舎の故郷の写真や、バチカンやコロッセオといった地元の伝統的な建築物、ラザニアやラビオリといった地元の食べ物の説明で学生たちを魅了しました。
7月11日（火）、アリゾナ州立大学（アメリカ）のトミー・イングリッシュさん：
星条旗のシンボルについて説明し、多文化主義の概念や砂漠での生活についても触れながら、参加者たちに母国のことを詳細に紹介しました。
7月13日（木）、クワントレン・ポリテクニク（カナダ）のパトリック・ルイさん：
自身の出身地であるバンクーバー州やプリンス・エドワード島（赤毛のアンを読んだことのある人にはお馴染み）など、旅行者に人気の観光地を紹介しました。
この「地球がキャンパスだ！」は、本学の学生にとって、様々な国の話を聞いたり、写真を見たり、留学生と直接話したりすることで、国際文化に触れる機会となっています。
このような交流を通して、さらなる文化交流や異文化探求への強い関心が生まれることを期待しています。
Three exchange students from Ryukoku University’s partner institutions participated in the Global Commons event “Chikyu ga Campus Da!” to introduce their home culture to Japanese students during the second week of July.
On July 10th (Monday), Nicole Mariani from Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) entranced students with photos of her picturesque rural hometown, classic local architecture such as the Vatican and the Colosseum, and descriptions of local foods such as lasagna and ravioli.
On July 11th (Tuesday), Tommy English of Arizona State University (United States) explained the symbolism of the star-spangled banner and elicited students’ images of her country while also discussing concepts of multiculturalism and describing life in the desert.
Finally, on July 13th (Thursday), Patrick Lui of Kwantlen Polytechnic (Canada) gave an overview of favorite local destinations for travelers, including his home province of Vancouver and Prince Edward Island (a favorite of those who have read Anne of Green Gables).
This [Chikyu ga Campus Da!] event serves as a way for our Japanese students to touch international cultures by listening to stories, looking at photographs, and having the chance to speak directly with exchange students. We hope that a strong interest in further cultural exchange and exploration is kindled through such interactions, and we look forward to offering further sessions in the next semester.
