以下、R-STEP参加留学生のレポートを紹介します。

Report about Orientation, Campus Tour, Interaction with Ryukoku Students, and Welcome Party.

Our day began with an orientation in the classroom, where the school staff warmly welcomed us. We started with self-introductions, which helped everyone get to know each other. Then we played some simple ice-breaking games that made the atmosphere more relaxed and fun.
After the orientation, we joined a campus tour. We visited key places like the library and several important buildings. The tour gave us a better understanding of the school’s layout and helped us become more familiar with the environment.

Later, we had the chance to interact with local students from Ryukoku University. They were very friendly and welcoming. We were divided into groups to do some fun activities, including self-introductions and casual conversations. We also wrote our wishes on small paper cards and hung them on bamboo branches, hoping our wishes would come true. By switching groups, we were able to talk to more students and learn about their lives and culture.

To finish the day, we joined a welcome party. There were pizzas, sushi, drinks, and desserts for everyone to enjoy. We also played quiz games about Japanese culture and had friendly conversations while eating McDonald’s. Our group won first place in one of the games and received a small prize. The party was a joyful and memorable way to end a meaningful day full of learning and cultural exchange.

レポート：オリエンテーション・キャンパスツアー・龍谷大学の学生との国際交流・ウェルカムパーティーについて

初日はスタッフの温かい歓迎から始まりました。簡単な自己紹介から始まり、みなさんのことを知ることができました。その後、少しアイスブレイクをして、そこからリラックスして、楽しい雰囲気になりました。オリエンテーションの後はキャンパスツアーに参加しました。図書館などプログラムに重要な建物を中心に巡り、ツアーはキャンパスを知り、環境に慣れるために役立ちました。

その後、龍谷大学の学生と温かい歓迎の中、交流しました。グループに分かれ、いくつかの楽しいアクティビティや自己紹介、カジュアルな話をしました。また、小さな紙に願いを書いて笹の木にかけました。願いが叶ってほしいです。グループを変えることで多くの学生と交流することができました。

最後に、ウェルカムパーティーに参加しました。ピザや寿司、飲み物からデザートまであり、みんな楽しんでいました。日本文化についてのクイズをしながら、楽しくマクドナルドを食ました。私たちのグループは1位になり、賞品をもらいました。パーティは楽しく、忘れられない思い出になり、文化を学ぶこともできたため、充実した１日でした。

龍谷大学は2025年7月7日（月）から7月19日（土）まで、海外協定校の学生を対象に、短期留学プログラム「R-STEP（Ryukoku Short-Term Experience Program）」を開催しています。今年は7カ国から10名の学生が参加しました。R-STEPでは、龍谷大学深草キャンパスを拠点に、日本語、歴史、文化に特化した講義での学びや、日本の過去と現在を探求する機会を得ることができます。また、フィールドワークでは西本願寺をはじめ、二条城、金閣寺、平等院鳳凰堂など京都の歴史的・文化的名所の訪問に加え、和菓子作り体験など様々な日本文化体験ができます。

R-STEPでは、Global StaRtの学生が企画・運営に加わり、キャンパスツアーや本学学生との交流会、七夕イベント、そしてWelcome Partyを実施しました。また、フィールドトリップにも参加し、事前の下見から当日のサポートまで積極的に関わり、R-STEPを支え、国際交流の場を創出しています。

この2週間の経験が留学生にとって新たな日本での留学を目指すきっかけになり、そして、本学学生を含めすべての参加者にとって忘れられない特別な異文化体験になることを願っています。
