学生レポ：金継ぎ体験から学ぶ日本の“美”と“精神性”・京都タワーとチームラボを訪問＜R-STEPプログラム＞【Ｒ-Globe】
2026年7月9日（木）から7月22日（水）まで、龍谷大学の海外協定校の学生を対象に、短期留学プログラム「R-STEP（Ryukoku Short-Term Experience Program）」を開催しています。今年は5カ国から17名の学生が参加しました。
7月16日（木）プログラム8日目のフィールドトリップでは金継ぎ体験をした後、京都駅周辺を訪れました。
以下、R-STEP参加学生のレポートを紹介します。

Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, is a city that masterfully balances tradition and modernity. During our recent field trip, we experienced three entirely different facets of the city: the centuries-old craft of Kintsugi, the panoramic views from Kyoto Tower, and the immersive digital world of teamLab Biovortex Kyoto.
Kintsugi (literally «golden joinery») is the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold. Beyond the technique, our sensei shared the deeper philosophy behind Kintsugi: that cracks and fractures are not flaws to be hidden, but part of an object’s history. By highlighting them with gold, the piece becomes even more beautiful and unique. This was not just a craft lesson, it was a meditation.
After the Kintsugi experience we went to Kyoto Tower, standing directly in front of Kyoto Station. Rising 131 metres above ground, it is the tallest structure in the city centre. An elevator whisked us up to the observation deck at 100 metres, where a 360‑degree panorama unfolded before our eyes. The deck provides free binoculars, making it easy to identify famous temples and shrines.
Our final stop was the newly opened «teamLab Biovortex Kyoto». The core concept of the exhibition is “Biovortex”a flowing, ever‑changing energy field that symbolises the cycle of life and the interconnection of all things. As I stepped into the exhibition halls, I was surrounded by a dazzling fusion of light, sound, and interactive technology. Highlights include a giant bubble like space that shifts with each touch, and an interactive wall where you can draw your own sea creatures and watch them come to life on the projection. Every room held a new surprise, making me feel as though I had stepped into a living, breathing dreamscape.
Looking back, I understood that this journey was more than a sightseeing trip - it was a personal exploration of beauty, time, and connection.

日本の古都である京都は、伝統と現代性が見事に調和した都市です。今回の校外学習では、私たちは京都のまったく異なる3つの側面を体験しました。それは、何世紀にもわたって受け継がれてきた伝統工芸である金継ぎ、京都タワーからの壮大な眺望、そして没入型のデジタルアート空間「teamLab Biovortex Kyoto」です。
金継ぎ（英語では Kintsugi 、直訳すると「golden joinery」）は、割れたり欠けたりした陶器を漆で修復し、その継ぎ目に金粉をまぶしたり混ぜたりする日本の伝統技法です。しかし、先生は技術だけでなく、その背景にある深い哲学についても教えてくださいました。金継ぎでは、ひびや欠けは隠すべき欠点ではなく、その器が歩んできた歴史の一部と考えられています。そして、それらを金で際立たせることで、その器はさらに美しく、唯一無二のものになります。これは単なる工芸体験ではなく、人生について考える瞑想のような時間でもありました。
金継ぎ体験の後、私たちは京都駅のすぐ前にある京都タワーを訪れました。京都タワーは地上131メートルの高さを誇り、市街地で最も高い建造物です。エレベーターで高さ100メートルの展望台まで一気に上がると、360度のパノラマ景色が目の前に広がりました。展望台には無料の双眼鏡が設置されており、有名な寺院や神社を簡単に見つけることができました。
最後に訪れたのは、新しくオープンした「teamLab Biovortex Kyoto」です。この展示の中心的なコンセプトである「Biovortex（バイオボルテックス）」は、生命の循環と万物のつながりを象徴する、絶えず流動し変化し続けるエネルギーの場を表しています。展示室に足を踏み入れた瞬間、私は光と音、そしてインタラクティブ技術が融合した幻想的な空間に包まれました。見どころの一つは、触れるたびに変化する巨大な泡のような空間です。また、自分で描いた海の生き物が映像の中で実際に動き出すインタラクティブな壁もありました。どの部屋にも新たな驚きがあり、まるで生きて呼吸している夢の世界に入り込んだかのような気分になりました。
振り返ってみると、この旅は単なる観光旅行ではありませんでした。それは、美しさ、時の流れ、そして人や物とのつながりについて考える、私自身の探求の旅だったのです。

這次京都的校外教學太令人難忘！我們參觀了位於京都塔附近的「teamLab」常設美術館，一踏入展區就彷彿墜入了一個由科技、光影的奇幻世界。這裡的數位藝術完全打破了人與作品的邊界，隨著我們的觸碰與走動，身邊的光影漩渦與色彩會不斷變幻、流動，感覺自己也成了藝術的一部分。我們在光怪陸離的立體空間裡探索，既震撼又療癒，絕對是這次旅行中最精采的亮點

今回の京都での校外学習は本当に忘れられないものとなりました！私たちは京都タワーの近くにある常設美術館「teamLab」を訪れました。展示エリアに一歩足を踏み入れた瞬間、まるでテクノロジーと光と影が織りなす幻想的な世界に迷い込んだかのようでした。ここではデジタルアートが人と作品との境界を完全に取り払い、私たちが触れたり歩いたりするたびに、周囲の光の渦や色彩が絶えず変化し、流動します。まるで自分自身もアートの一部になったような感覚でした。私たちはその不思議で華やかな立体空間を探索し、大きな感動と癒やしを同時に味わいました。間違いなく、今回の旅行で最も印象的で素晴らしいハイライトでした。

At that day we went to team lab and I had a match strawberry drinks at that day and it was really good and we also went to Kyoto tower see the view of Kyoto and it was also hot at that day

その日はチームラボに行きました。そして抹茶といちごのドリンクを飲んだのですが、とてもおいしかったです。また、京都タワーにも行って京都の景色を見ました。その日もとても暑かったです。
