(Announcement) Regarding Continuation of the "Level 3" Class Activity Restrictions Due to the State of Emergency Re-extension

The medical system continues to be taxed due to the spread of the Novel Coronavirus, and it is expected that the State of Emergency issued by the government will be extended. Based on this fact, the "Level 3" class activity restrictions will continue at the university.

Classes will continue to be conducted in an online format, with the exception of some face-to-face classes (seminars, experiments, practical training, practical skills, etc.), as they are at present. Furthermore, in consideration of students who are worried about commuting to campus, we will continue to consider the possibility of offering classes online as much as possible (such as 1st Period classes). We request students who are worried about commuting to campus to please consult their Class Instructor.

We expect the State of Emergency to be extended. However, if this declaration is lifted, the class activity restriction level at the university may be lowered, depending on the infection circumstances. In that case, please note that face-to-face classes may resume, even in the middle of the semester.

As a measure based on this situation, we will cooperate with Kyoto Prefecture's means of monitoring the Novel Coronavirus. PCR tests will be conducted by Kyoto Prefecture for Ryukoku University's Academic and Administrative Staff. In addition, food and other support will be provided to students living alone who have become infected, or to individuals who have become close contacts of infected individuals. More information on these points will be provided in the future.

We will continue to allow access to the campus, so facilities such as the University Library can be used. In addition, campus spaces such as the Commons are open from 8:00am, so commuting times can be adjusted.

We thank you very much for your understanding of the fact that there are restrictions on student activities on campus due to the extension of the State of Emergency.
