4Regarding the Disinfection of Facilities
If a Student or Academic/Administrative Staff Member is found to be infected, the university will work with the Health Center to disinfect the room, equipment, and articles in the area where the infected individual was active.

6Regarding Various On-Campus Activities

1Regarding Commuting to Campus
When commuting to the university, wear a mask, refrain from talking, and take measures to prevent getting infected by avoiding congestion. In addition, be sure to measure your temperature before coming to school. If you have a fever (37.5 degrees or higher) or if you are not feeling well, do not come to the university and take a rest.
Handling of the Commute to Campus
(1) When using public transportation such as trains or buses, avoid congestion as much as possible.                                                            (2) Try to take measures such as coming to the university at an early hour.          (3) When moving from the nearest station to the campus, use a detour route (including the use of the pedestrian bridge or a detour route along the canal and use of the Main Gate), for example, so as not to cause congestion.
When Entering Campus
Always wear a mask on campus.

2Regarding Face-to-Face Classes
Face-to-face lessons will be conducted after taking measures to prevent infection, such as avoiding the [Three C’s], based on the following guidelines.

Classrooms, etc.
〇 The classroom will be adjusted so that the number of seats is about half of the normal number, and depending on the classroom specifications, the seats will be separated by about one meter.
〇 In principle, seats will be assigned for classes.
〇 Acrylic splash prevention boards will be installed in classrooms.
〇 When there are congestion concerns regarding entering or leaving the building,

flow lines will be secured to avoid congestion such as making one-way lanes, if necessary.
〇 It is recommended to use the stairs as much as possible between classes.

When using the elevator, students who need consideration should be prioritized, and the [Three C's should be avoided.
〇 We will encourage disinfection of desks before and after class.

Avoiding the 3 C’s
Wear a mask when attending face-to-face classes.                      Always ventilate classrooms by opening windows and doors as much as possible, and two or more windows by 10cm at all times. However, if this is difficult due to the classroom type or content of the lecture, the window should be fully opened once every thirty minutes, for several minutes, for ventilation.     In the classroom, refrain from short-distance conversations and face-to-face conversations, and make a distance when group work or student presentations are involved.                                                          For classes that involve utterances and classes in which students and teachers are close to each other, such as experiments, practical training, and practical subjects, face shields will be distributed to students and teachers as necessary.

DisinfectionSterilization
Hand sanitizer will be provided on each building and floor so that students and teachers can use it before and after class.                                 Classrooms will be disinfected once every day.                         For common equipment should be sterilized after each use, as much as possible.                                                           Used desks should be disinfected with a disinfectant sheet before and after class.

Other
Face-to-face lessons such as practical training conducted off-campus will be conducted if the Faculty, etc. confirms the location and infection prevention measures.                                                          For students who are at risk of developing severe symptoms due to an underlying condition, etc., considerations will be made and appropriate measures taken when conducting face-to-face lessons.                               Even if a class is being held in face-to-face format, this may be switched to an online class according to the infection situation. If it becomes necessary to switch, a certain period of cancellation may be provided in order to respond to the need for class preparation and syllabus changes.                                   In addition, the university will take the necessary infection prevention measures according to the type of face-to-face class.

3Regarding Extracurricular Activities
Activities will be approved if a “Notification of the Resuming of Activities” is submitted to the Student Office in advance, and if it can be judged that sufficient infection prevention measures can be taken while avoiding the [Three C's].

Main Compliance Points
Student Organizations wishing to resume their activities should summarize the infection countermeasures for their activities, including avoiding the [Three C's], and submit a "Notification of the Resuming of Activities" to the Student Affairs Office.    Each individual records their daily body temperature and physical condition, and those who are in poor physical condition do not participate in the activity.           In activities, pay particular attention to avoiding the [Three C's].                Thoroughly wash hands with soap or disinfect hands and gargle diligently not only before and after, but also during the activity.                                   Wear a mask as long as it does not interfere with your activities to thoroughly prevent the spread of droplets.                                              Disinfect common items before and after the event.                          Provide thorough ventilation for indoor activities.                            Create a daily report (report on each student activity status) for each activity day and submit it to the Student Affairs Office by noon on the day after the activity day. The daily report will also be shared with the Faculty Director, Deputy Director, and Instructors.                                                             When participating in official competitions (matches, competitions), practice matches, and joint practices, submit an application that summarizes the reasons for the essential activity and infection prevention measures to the Student Affairs Department for permission.                                                          In addition, take sufficient infection countermeasures based on the rules stipulated in the “Infection Prevention/Infection Spread Prevention Manual for Resuming Extracurricular Activities”.

4Regarding Job Hunting and InternshipsCareer CenterInternship Office
The Career Center will be opened through prior application on the Web (individual booths for online selection can reserved by telephone), and support will be provided to all students (mainly job-hunting students). In addition, if there is a consultation request from a job-hunting student, we will respond to the telephone consultation on that day.

Keep the following in mind when using the Career Center.

  •  When entering the room, be sure to disinfect your hands, check your health, and wear a mask.                                                         Keep a distance from the Staff to thoroughly prevent infection.                 Including the interview time, use of the Career Center is limited to one hour.

    Regarding Job Hunting
If you need to go out for job hunting, manage your physical condition on a daily basis, pay the utmost attention to the information released by each local government, and try to minimize your time on site to prevent infection.

    Regarding Internship Participation
Keep the following points in mind when conducting off-campus internship activities.
  • Follow the instructions of the internship destination (company, local government) and comply with the guidelines and infection prevention measures.
  • While conducting these activities, actively practice the "new lifestyle" and pay sufficient attention to avoidance of [Three C's], infection prevention, conducting health checks and health maintenance, etc. (taking your temperature in advance, saying home when you are in poor physical condition, wearing a mask, disinfecting your hands, etc.).
  • Report to the internship destination and the university if you are infected with COVID-19, if you find that you have had close contact with an infected person, if you have a fever of 37.5 ° C or higher, or if you feel unwell.
  • Actively use the COVID-19 contact app (COCOA).
  • Regardless of the number of people, refrain from participating in dinners and social gatherings with food and drink held by those involved in the internship.
  • Keep detailed records of health observations and your activities history (destination and people with whom you have had contact) for up to two weeks after the internship experience.

The Career Center webpage (including career and employment support at the Osaka Umeda Campus and Tokyo Office) regarding COVID-19 will be summarized and updated as needed.

5Regarding the Use of Facilities

Regarding the Cleaning and Disinfection of FacilitiesInfection Prevention, etc.
In principle, classrooms should be cleaned and disinfected once a day.           Wash your hands with soap and running water for about 30 seconds. If you cannot wash your hands, disinfect your hands with the alcohol disinfectant installed in the building.                                                               Be sure to wear a mask in the facility (make your own mask).

Avoiding Crowds
We recommend using the stairs as much as possible. Students who need consideration should be prioritized for elevator use, and the [Three C's] should be avoided.

Stair directions will be designated as "up" or "down", depending on the building conditions.

Library
If measures are taken to prohibit admission to the university due to the activity restriction level, the library will be closed and limited to the book mailing service (through online application) and the copying/ mailing service of magazine articles.   If measures are taken to restrict admission to the university depending on the activity restriction level, the number of admissions to the library will be restricted by prior application system. In addition, infection prevention measures will be implemented by placing a time limit of use and shortening the opening hours.        If measures are not taken to restrict admission to the campus due to the activity restriction level, the number of admissions will be restricted to prevent the spread of infection, according to the status of class implementation.

Learning Commons
When using the Learning Commons, make efforts to prevent the spread of infection and follow the rules set by the Commons on each campus. For detailed information, check the Learning Commons webpage: https://www.ryukoku.ac.jp/learningcommons/index.php
