サステナビリティに関する取り組み

サステナビリティ基本方針

龍谷大学は、「浄土真宗の精神」を建学の精神とする大学として、人、社会、地球と共に持続可能な社会の実現に寄与すべく、次のとおりサステナビリティ基本方針を定めます。

  1. 仏教の観点を踏まえた、魅力ある教育・研究・社会連携活動を推進し、多様なステークホルダーとともに、地域課題、国際課題の解決に貢献し、持続可能な社会を構築します。
  2. キャンパスの隣接エリアを含め、サステナブルキャンパスを目指します。
  3. 人権を尊重し、DEIB（Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging）の取り組みを推進します。
  4. 公正かつ透明性の高いガバナンスを通じてサステナビリティの実現に寄与します。
  5. サステナビリティに関する具体的な目標と指標を設定し、進捗を公表します。 

本基本方針に加え、既に策定している教育・研究・社会連携などの各方針や仏教SDGs宣言、カーボンニュートラル宣言、ネイチャーポジティブ宣言とも関連させながら、持続可能な社会の実現に向けて具体的な内容に取り組みます。
そして、本基本方針については適宜見直しを図ることとし、時代の変化に即した方針を維持することといたします。

Ryukoku University, founded on the spirit of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism, establishes the following basic policy on sustainability in order to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society in harmony with people, society, and the planet.

  1. Based on Buddhist perspectives, we will promote attractive education, research, and social collaboration activities which contribute to the joint solving of regional and international issues with diverse stakeholders, thereby building a sustainable society.
  2. We will aim for a sustainable campus, including areas adjacent to the campus.
  3. We will respect human rights and promote initiatives for DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging).
  4. We will contribute to the realization of sustainability through fair and highly transparent governance.
  5. We will set specific sustainability-related goals and indicators, and will disclose our progress.

In addition to this basic policy, we will work on specific measures towards the realization of a sustainable society, in connection with various policies already formulated in relation to education, research, and social collaboration, as well as our Declaration on Buddhist SDGs, Declaration on Carbon Neutrality, and our Declaration on Nature Positive.
Furthermore, this basic policy will be reviewed as necessary to maintain initiatives which are in line with the changing times.
