Social innovation through food and agriculture

Food and agriculture have received considerable attention in recent years. Nutrition is central to the enduring well-being of humankind, and food and agriculture, which support this well-being, are about to become familiar and important fields of study. Practice based on theory is vital.

With the ongoing development of society, food and agriculture have expanded their complex relationship with society. Today, research across many disciplines is eagerly awaited. This is because more and more problems cannot be solved within one specialty area alone.

In order to meet the demands of the new times, the Graduate School has reorganized the four departments of the Faculty of Agriculture (Department of Life Science, Department of Agricultural Science, Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, and Department of Agri-Food System) into a single department to promote practical education and research that integrates food and agriculture. Social innovation through food and agriculture is the horizon of research and education pursued by the Department of Food and Agricultural Science.
