Law School

The Ryukoku University Law School aims to foster “lawyers who work for citizens” in a spirit of cooperation and who strive for peace, democracy and respect for human rights.
To achieve the goal of judicial system reform, or the creation of “a Judicial System for the People,” it is necessary for citizens to have easy access to the system and be able to reach fair legal solutions to conflicts. For this purpose lawyers’ multifaceted involvement in daily life is indispensable. Thus, the Law School aims to nurture human-rights-sensitive “lawyers who work for citizens”, who contribute to coexistence within society, to the assurance of citizens’ access to the judicial system and to the realization of a humane and equal criminal justice system.
