New information about the spread of the Novel Coronavirus is being reported daily. The spread of infection within Japan continues to be a concern. Please check the following notes and take appropriate action.

1. Regarding the Prevention of Infection
In your daily life, please follow the same basic rules you would follow to prevent the common cold or seasonal influenza.
(1) Wash your hands with soap and running water, gargle thoroughly, and rub your hands with disinfectant as necessary.
(2) Wear a mask properly and be mindful of “cough etiquette”.
(3) Practice self-restraint with regards to going to crowded places, and avoid unnecessary outings.

2. Managing Your Health
While following the prevention measures above, follow the guidelines below to manage your health.
(1) If you do not feel well, such as having a fever or other cold symptoms, take a rest and do not force yourself to go to school or work. Take your temperature (twice a day, in the morning and evening), and focus on making yourself well.
(2) If you experience any of the following symptoms, avoid contact with other people and immediately contact the nearest “Kikokusha・Sesshokusha Soudan Senta (Returnee and Contact Center)” by telephone for a consultation.

① If you have a serious condition, such as difficulty in breathing (dyspnea), severe fatigue (malaise), or high fever
② If you are at risk for severe disease (older adult, person with a pre-existing condition such as diabetes, cardiac insufficiency, or respiratory disease (COPD, etc.), person undergoing dialysis, or person being treated with immunosuppressants, anticancer agents, or the like) and have relatively mild cold symptoms, such as fever and cough
③ If you do not fall under the above and have relatively mild cold symptoms, such as fever and cough (If your condition persists for four days or more, be sure to contact the Center. Since symptoms vary from person to person, if you believe that you have a serious condition, contact the Center immediately. The same applies if you must continue taking an antipyretic or the like.)

When consulting a medical institution referred to you by the Returnee and Contact Center, please report the result of the consultation to the Ryukoku University Health Center (by telephone or e-mail).
